SAP SYSTEM CHALLENGES
Understanding FFF's Business Drivers

FFF first implemented SAP in 2017 - by 2019, they had outgrown their procurement and planning practices, which were largely manual and based on email and spreadsheets. To better support day-to-day operations and maintain today's pace of change, FFF needed a modern supply chain solution that automated manual work while supporting data-driven decision making.

CHALLENGE

FFF's Procurement division was using an inefficient, labor-intensive approach that required significant off-system analysis across numerous spreadsheets. Decision-making limitations were evident, and vendor reporting requirements were challenging to fulfill.

SOLUTION

ifm's GIB Supply Chain Software was chosen, and FFF deployed our Demand Planning, Inventory Optimization, and Procurement enhancements to create an automated, connected supply chain and strategic sourcing process.

OUTCOME

Digital procurement operations now empower stakeholders to visualize, communicate, and act with increased transparency and speed, delivering operational efficiency and tangible business value.

FFF'S BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS

Building a Smarter Supply Chain

FFF was operating a supply chain process that was manual, reactive, and limited in their ability to anticipate customer demand and efficiently devise an optimal inventory strategy. Using an all too familiar combination of standard SAP with many offline spreadsheets, FFF was challenged with scaling a fast-growing organization using an operational process that contained many digital leaks and silos of data.

Procurement posed an especially particular challenge: having to balance the inventory needs of the sales organization with multiple vendor requirements and constraints around ordering minimums, alternate UoMs, variable pricing, and numerous incentive programs. FFF knew they needed a solution that would meet their business requirements without adding complexity and data security risks to their IT environment.

EVALUATION AND DECISION

Path to Strategic Procurement

To scale their business, FFFF conducted an assessment of supply chain software that delivered the end-to-end supply chain capability they were looking for, while minimizing total cost of ownership, IT complexity, data security risk, and achieving rapid time to value.

The GIB Supply Chain Suite distinguished itself from the competition because it was the only solution that operated within SAP, which allowed FFF to avoid any costly and time-consuming multi-system integration.

Within two months of project kickoff, the first project phase, Procurement, was completed and the procurement team began to experience the efficiency gains that have yielded breakthrough efficiency gains and process improvements.
